The Artist Formerly Known as Clam
When I came to visit you this Spring, ninos, one of the things I brought was this little easle and some erasable crayons. I felt Weezie would want to draw, while Clam would scribble a bit. For awhile that's the way it did indeed go, Weezie drawing and Clam scribbling over her work. Then one day, while Weezie was at school, Clam did some drawing of his own. Here he gazes into the distance, perhaps seeking further guidance from his artistic muse. The work on the whiteboard is mostly Clam's; I have drawn my stock version of a flower in the lower left corner. The rest is his.
Pay particular attention to the upper panel of the board. Note the brown scribble to the mid-left and the smaller red scribble to the right.
Here we digress for a moment while Clam queries my motives for taking his picture, especially while he is absorbed in his work. These artists are sooooo sensitive, you know!
Now I realize I am the fond Nonna, seeing the absolute best in my grandchildren, but notice how cleverly Clam has introduced some insects into his flower garden. From a distance, a brown fuzzy scribble. Up close, a DRAGONFLY.
And this little creature, for those of you whose artistic sensibilities have been stunted by highway billboards and beer commercials, is a HONEY BEE. I am in awe of Clam's talent.
A close-up of the bee sitting on a flower.
Stand up, Clam and take a bow! Your Nonna applauds you and your burgeoning talent!
