Giddyap, Old Bear
The kids have been to the National Zoo several times since Christa and I took them in the summer of 2009. They like so many things at the Zoo, and it is impossible to see everything in one day. This was their first trip, and these are the only pictures (it was a little overwhelming, actually, with the heat, finding drinking water, no strollers allowed in most exhibit buildings which meant carrying Clam, and long walks between exhibits looking for things they especially wanted to see) but I'm sad that I did not capture more of their encounters with some of the animals. Perhaps because I was busy gawking too.
Sitting on the bear was an enormous hit. Not just with Weezie and Clam but also the long line of toddlers (and older children) waiting a turn to climb on. Such a simple thing to provide so much fun. We will return to the Zoo every chance we get, ninos, it is a wonderful place.
