Lazy, Hazy, Chilly Days of Summer

Here we are on the railroad depot lawn in August 2009, grandchildren. You and your mom were visiting me in Idaho.  Mame was away on a short business trip and we were hanging out, finding things to do with our lazy summer days. We packed a lunch (almond butter and honey sandwiches, veggies, fruit and cheese) and came here so I could show Clam a big old locomotive that is on permanent display nearby.

Didn't take us long to decide that it was cold here in the shade of these big old trees.

I am including several pictures of you, ninos, because I can't decide which one I like best.

Weezie is patient with me when I take a lot of pictures.

After lunch we walked through the beautiful grounds and rode an elevator to the top of the bell tower. It took some time for us to get warm again, amazing when you consider it was August, normally one of the hottest months here. This is the back of a little rock grotto which we will explore when you are older and can keep me from slipping off the rock pathway into the water. For now, it is enough to remember that this is a lovely place to visit and have a picnic.
