Uncle Judd and Mame

Of course I failed to write the year taken on the back of this photograph, ninos, but I can guess that it was around 1987 shortly before your mama graduated from high school. We (Mame, GG and I) had rendezvoused with Uncle Judd and Aunt Sandy and kids (Auntie Brit and Uncle Cole) at their Grandma Faye's home in Las Vegas. I love this picture for several reasons. One, your mama is smiling (something she rarely did in photographs) and she looks relaxed and pretty. We can credit that to Uncle Judd; he probably said something to her that would make most people laugh aloud and slap a leg. The second reason I love this picture is Uncle Judd looks happy, and it shows what a handsome man he is. Uncle Judd will turn seventy next month which is kind of amazing to me (probably even more amazing to him). The third reason this picture is special for me is that we didn't get together with Uncle Judd's part of the family very often so a picture of these two people sitting together and enjoying each other is somewhat rare. But this is a good one, and I share it here for you to enjoy.

This is a great picture. It was taken around 1986/1987 as I remember Cole was 9 or 10 that Christmas in Las Vegas. We are all fortunate that we are and were able to share and enjoy our families on both sides.
