Nonna's House

This is my house. It belonged to someone else when this picture was taken, but Mom and I live here now. The house was built in 1908. It is a little (915 square feet) house with a sun porch on the back. My daughter found it and I bought over the phone. She was pretty sure I would like it, and she was right. It is teeny, though. And the closet space is a challenge. I think people in those days did not have nearly as much stuff. They didn't know they needed it. The kitchen has been updated. The bathroom and laundry area are just right. The house meets my needs and I am happy here.

Our house (also 100 years old) is short on closets, too. We bought some wardrobes from Ikea, and I have to say, I actually like them better than closets. You can move the wardrobe anywhere, but the closet stays in one place.

Of course, a utility closet would be nice....

Good point. I do like the armoire, it is a lovely piece of furniture. Ikea stuff is nice, I will keep that in mind for next trip to Seattle. And rolling racks work in a pinch. I have a compact broom closet in kitchen, better than sticking broom beside fridge. But the vacuum is still looking for a home . . .
