Weezie, here you are on your front porch, dressed for Madeline's Christmas, a Children's Theatre play we attended in December 2008. Grandma Bling gave you this coat; it is lovely and smart and charming just as you are. This time we sat through the entire production. Afterwards we went for hot chocolate but the little cafe was closed. Around the corner was an elegant restaurant where some of the city's most interesting people were having lunch. It was very crowded and you were the only child present. The waitstaff fell in love with you; they gave us a table overlooking the river. We ordered hot chocolate, soup and sandwiches. The hot chocolate was good and we had seconds with fruit cobbler and ice cream. Lacking a bib, we tied your knapkin around your neck but you didn't spill or drip. Your manners, I am pleased to record, were perfect. Afterwards we walked around the little mall and admired the holiday decorations. It was a perfect day. I love these little excursions with you. In a year or two, perhaps Little Clam can join us on these outings, what fun that will be.
