It has been snowing since mid December. We've broken all records for snowfall except maybe the one for moisture content. Rain due tonight should correct that deficiency.I have been housebound all but a few hours of the last three weeks. My camera is not working so I cannot document the beauty all around. You are not likely to remember this winter, ninos, but it is memorable for me. I have someone to help with the shovelling, a great relief. And I don't really need to go anywhere, although I miss dropping in on you and your mom, drinking tea and reading books, taking Weezie on little jaunts when weather permits, bringing treats and so on. You are after all the reason I am here and not somewhere else basking in sunshine. I am posting this picture (lifted from a local blog) to preserve a bit of this winter's beauty. The river runs through the city's downtown area, and is stunningly pretty in any season. The city of Spokane is nestled into an urban forest. Although several hundred thousand people live here, I have seen moose, deer, racoon, skunk, quail and other wildlife wandering through the (mostly unfenced) neighborhoods. I moved here to spend time with you, ninos, and these other features are a pleasant bonus.
