Thank You Grandpa and Grandma Bling

This picture was taken shortly before your mom and I moved you to the east coast, ninos. Your Grandma Bling was thoughtful to include me in the picture session, held at a small park near your home in Spokane. It was a beautiful Spring day. Looking at this picture makes me feel both happy and sad. Do you ever feel like that, grandchildren, two different emotions in your mind and heart at one time? When I look at the picture above, my heart fills with love for you and your mama, and I am happy to see each of your sweet faces. But I am also sad when I think of the life you left behind and the difficulties each of your parents went through in this process of beginning again. It has been trying for each of you, yet slowly, thoughtfully, a bit at a time the good life you knew is being set back into place. And all of this is invisible to you, of course, but someday you will begin to stitch the stories of your lives together. This picture is one little piece of that complicated puzzle.
