Their Very Own Pool

Dear Weezie and Clam:  It has been a long time since I wrote to you on this blog.  Many things have happened during that time.  I cannot fill in all the blanks, it is just too much for me right now.  So I am beginning from now, just to get the stories going again.  I hope to write you some stories about the missing time.  If you have questions for me, that may help me figure out what is important to tell you, and what we can just let go.  So let's get on with today's story.  xoxo Nonna.
You and your mom are coming to visit me in August, dear grandchildren.  Meanwhile, when we talk on Face Time or Skype, I ask about the fun things you might like to do.  Swimming at Aunt Sandy and Uncle Judd's clubhouse pool is high on the list. We talked about the pool Mame had when she was your age.  It was a nice pool, just the right size for a girl and her dog, a few of her friends, and sometimes her dad and mom (your grandpa Steve who lives in California and me, your Nonna). This picture is old and the colors are turning orange, but I remember how clear and sparkling the water looked on those hot summer days.  I remember the jumping and splashing, games of Horse and Marco Polo, diving for rings, and sunburned skin.  I know it took some time and effort to keep the pool clean and the chemicals in balance (get it wrong and you have a lily pond overnight) but it was worth it.  And Champ (the dog) liked it a lot.  Good memories.  We'll make some new memories this August.  Can't wait to see you all!
