Your mom doesn't like to fly, did you know that, ninos? She wasn't afraid of flying, but it made her uncomfortable. Her initial trips from Arizona to Washington DC were by train or car. That is a four or five day trip over land. Eventually she decided it took too much of her work time and so she switched to air travel.
Here she is around nine years old, departing on a flight from Phoenix to San Diego with her dad. I don't suppose she enjoyed flying back then, either, but she didn't complain. Like most children, she was happiest when her parents were happy. Unlike many parents, your mom remembers what it was like to be a child. That's how she knows what's on your mind and why she can be such a good listener when you have stories to tell and questions you want to ask. Your mom is kind and thoughtful. She is always there for you when you need her. But you already know that.
