Barn Sale Days

It is a lovely day in the summer of 2007, Weezie. You are nearly two and the baby who will become Little Clam is developing inside your mom's belly. We're at a Barn Sale hosted by a group of farm women at (yup, you guessed it) a big old barn on the edge of town. GG was living here then and we were prowling for relics and bargains with your mom and dad. GG was finding all kinds of items she had been throwing away for the last four decades, all with outrageous prices. Everyone was having a good time, except you wanted something and in this picture we were trying to guess what it might be. (Women, what do they want?) It was not not not the water in the sippy cup on the table.

Your dad decided maybe you were thirsty for something special. He went in search of something you might enjoy.

Bingo! Orange drink, full of fizz and sugar, guaranteed to stain permanently. Just the special treat you had in mind.

Yay Dad! All smiles. Wonder if you will still be that easy to please at twenty-two?

Everyone is all smiles for the ride home, Baby Doll, Weezie and even GG who had root beer for her treat. It was a perfect day.
