Mame, Queen of Scots

Hello, Grandchildren. Here is a picture from a branch of the family tree on your mama's side whose history we have not yet explored. When we do, you'll find it contains a number of interesting people. Some are historical figures like this woman, some are the nearly great and famous and others are ordinary people who may have lived in turbulent times. But they each contributed to your unique genetic composition; and their history now belongs to you. This woman, Mary Queen of Scots, lived many generations ago on another continent. This is a drawing of her at the age of fifteen. I first saw it in one of the books written about her life and was struck by the uncanny resemblance to your mama. My books are packed away just now, and so I cannot tell you with any accuracy the details of her life, but it is enough for now that you have seen her picture and heard her name. Someday we'll read more about her and talk about the lineage that is traced from you back to Mary. Your cousin EM will be interested in Queen Mary's story also, since she shares this branch of the family tree. Royal blood has no particular value especially in a democratic republic like the United States of America, but I promise you it makes for some fascinating stories.
