Be My Friend and Dance With Me

The summer of 2009 was long, hot and humid. Living in the summer house with one window mounted air conditioning unit downstairs and one upstairs, we suffered. When the evenings finally cooled off, we could not go outside because of the mosquitoes and the threat of Nile virus disease. When Christa arrived from Washington State, we decided to escape to the coolness of publicly supported buildings. One of our first visits was to the National Cathedral, the nation's church.

Weezie was delighted to find this bronze statue of a child.
Clam was locked in his stroller and so could not participate here.

It's possible that Weezie thought this was a child imprisoned in a metal casing.

She studied her counterpart from every angle.

Ultimately her delight overcame her curiosity.

She was reluctant to leave her new "friend."
